INTERVIEW WITH THE DEPUTY HEAD TEACHER A. PALOZZA 

This article shows an interview with the Deputy Head Teacher of "Alessandro Volta Institute" in Tivoli–Guidonia. Through ten questions, we explored her experience, challenges, and vision on the school community.

1. How many years have you been Deputy Head Teacher?

I have been Deputy Head for two years, but I was already part of the school staff before taking on this role.

2. What is the best part of your job?

The best part is building strong connections with families and students, especially with students themselves.

3. What is the worst part of your job?

The most difficult aspect is having to constantly find compromises in complex situations.

4. What is the hardest part of being Deputy Head?

The hardest part is managing many responsibilities at the same time and maintaining a high level of commitment every day.

5. How do you work with students when there are problems or conflicts?

I try to understand their perspective, listen to them carefully, and guide them towards a constructive solution.

6. Which class do you think works best together and why?

Every class has its own strengths and something unique that makes it special.

7. What changes or improvements would you like to see in our school?

I would like to see structural improvements and stronger collaboration among teachers for the benefit of every student.

8. How do you support teachers in their work?

I support teachers by doing my best to understand their needs and help them in their daily challenges.

9. What is the main difference between the role of the Headmistress and the Deputy Head Teacher?

The Headmistress has overall responsibility and makes the final decisions, while the Deputy Teacher supports and assists in managing the school.

10. Among all the activities that the institute offers, which one would you recommend to first-year students?

I would recommend activities such as educational trips and projects that promote tolerance and respect, helping students to get to know each other and socialize.
